Retail Orders under $25 incur a Handling Charge of $5. Why is this?
For 10 + years now I have avoided Handling Charges .. and would still like to avoid them. But from time to time a customer will order but 2 (sometimes 1) bottle of oil. Such orders are a Net Loss for me because I have labor costs .. my employees work by the hour .. and it takes as much time to package a $7 order as it does a $100 order.
It also takes around the same amount of packaging material .. and it takes exactly the same amount of time to process the e-mail confirming the order and to take the order to the Post Office.
In addition to this, when someone makes a small order .. like $8 or $10 or so .. they are then shocked to see that the least expensive means of shipping the order via U.S. Postal might be as much as half of the value of the order .. and they then decide they don't want the order .. so it is even more wasted time.
Accordingly, I have been forced to (reluctantly) institute this Handling Charge policy and I believe it will be in the best interests of the new customer.
