    A perfect cistus absolute

Posted by Red Mage on Jul 8th 2022

The embodiment of what a cistus absolute should be. Is and always has been one of my favorite materials to work with in either natural perfumery or natural incense crafting. Slightly pourable but not so thick that it is like most cistus and labdanum absolutes on the market you can't use unless you scoop it out, nor is it thin enough to be diluted either. My only regret is not getting the 4 or 8oz instead of the 2oz. If you love an amber floral aroma without the sharp top note of the EO this is for you. I would definitely recommend and buy again. I wore some as soon as I got the bottle. A dab of this cistus, with a drop of Jasmine sambac from here, and a few drops of their Indian patchouli I got as sample and it smelled amazing. The cistus did a perfect job anchoring the Jasmine to last longer and the patchouli also gave it longevity and diffusion. I am always pleased with all my purchases from Av_nt. This is a must have for any collection. For diffusing you could always mix it with some gurjun balsam light or cistus EO. Although I would think it better to use on an incense warmer, electric or candle light. You could design perfumes or incense around this aroma alone. It's a perfume all on its own. Just a bit sticky so needs a bit of dilution. Not to much though as it is not a strong top note. I would recommend a 50/50 blend with whatever you use to dilute. I personally use either gurjun balsam light for it's neutral lack of aroma or natural TEC so I can use it in either oil based attars or alcohol based perfumes or even solid based perfumes.
