ROOM FRAGRANCE: An ideal oil for this purpose as it can create a tranquil atmosphere, but without marked sedation. It is relaxing, but mentally uplifting. The fragrance is persistent and therefore it makes an ideal room deodorant, the fragrance in a bathroom can linger for hours.
INHALATION: The vapor inhaled after putting a few drops in hot water, may help nasal and bronchial ailments because of its mild antimicrobial properties. Some aromatherapists claim that it has an anti-inflammatory action, this may help soothe inflamed mucous membranes.
BATHS: Geranium oil is highly recommended for adding to the bath to 'unwind' and for that purpose it combines extremely well with lavender oil. Its use in the bath may help relieve irritation caused by thrush and irritating skin conditions.
MASSAGE: A wonderful oil for use in massage, it can help relieve nervous tension, P.M.T, post-natal depression and many stress related ailments. It has a reputation among aromatherapists, for normalizing oily skin and for regulating the female hormone system.
Geranium oil blends well with: Bergamot, Chamomile (Roman), Clary, Lemongrass, Jasmine, Juniper, Lemon, Lemongrass, Olibanum, Rose and Vetiver.
Caution: There are some reports of sensitivity to the oil, but this is very much RARER than are adverse reactions to the fresh plant. Keep all essential oils well away from children and especially away from the eyes.
