ROOM FRAGRANCE: Lime oil can make an absolutely wonderful refreshing and mentally stimulating fragrance. It is particularly suitable for essential oil diffusers and if used during times of colds and flu, this may help prevent the spread of air born infections.
INHALATION: Lime oil is ideal for mixing with decongestant oils like Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, etc. in order to give them a more pleasant aroma and perhaps improve the synergistic action of the oil blend.
BATHS: A few drops of DISTILLED oil can be used in a bath. This may be more beneficial used in the morning when its refreshing and invigorating qualities may be appreciated to their maximum.
MASSAGE: Expressed oils are not advisable for massage, particularly if exposure to strong daylight or sunbeds is possible. However the distilled oil is particularly useful for treating people who are "down in the dumps" or are suffering general debility perhaps as the result of long term illness. This oil may be particularly useful for people with anorexia as its powerful fruity smell may stimulate digestive enzyme production.
Caution: In common with most citrus fruit oils, it is not advisable to use lime oil on the skin of anyone suffering from any form of skin cancer, precancerous conditions, or sun burnt or damaged skin. It may be wiser to avoid using this oil on the skin if the oil is over 6 months old, as natural chemical changes may increase the proportion of irritating chemicals. Ensure lime oil does not come into contact with the eyes. Keep all essential oils well away from children.
